Construction Updates:
Edmond:
- Busy this week after re-opening
Jones:
- Currently loading materials
- Grand Opening on Saturday, December 17th
- Musical performances and programming from 10am – 12pm including Oklahoma Music that has never been previously recorded; music will be streamed live on Metro’s Facebook page
- Current site open, through Wednesday, for computer use and reserves mostly
- Site construction should be 98% completed this week
Capitol Hill:
- Expected grand re-opening to take place in August 2017
- CH staff having been taking pictures each day from the same spot and angle so that the images can be used for a time-lapse video
Bethany:
- Temp site contractor up for approval at MLC meeting today at CH
Lead Librarian Job Description:
- Several members of management expressed concerns with clarity of job titles including Lead Librarian and Assistant Library Manager
- Lead Librarian Job Description to be finalized and enacted at each location by mid-January
- The amount of programming, InterReach and similar job tasks need to be evaluated by the library manager or assistant library manager, on an ongoing basis, so that each location is still able to successfully complete all necessary job responsibilities and local and system expectations. We want to be careful we don't over extend ourselves as we have 18.5 more years to complete our goal.
- Homework given by Michele Gorman for each person to read and become familiar with SH 110.
- All members of management (RDs, LMs, and ALMs) are responsible for ensuring the following is completed:
- Mentoring of direct reports for future management positions
- Job expectations and procedures are consistent at each location and across the system
- By tomorrow (12/9/16), if there is a Lead Librarian who a LM or ALM believes may want to leave the position, they need to confidentially email that information to Michele Gorman.
- Risa, Ashley, Todd, Mark, and Chris S. volunteered to work on core competency matrixes.
