Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
This meets two main goals of MLS: library members first and commitment to learning as enjoyment. Tweens often do not get to have programs for just them. This weekly program lets our tweens know they are also a valued member of our community. The programs will also have an educational aspect each week. From the arts to STEM activities, tweens will be having fun while they learn.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors easily navigate our inviting physical and virtual spaces.
Why will this program be successful?:
We have tweens in the library hanging out all summer on our computers and back porch. These programs will engage them in our resources and help us make connections with our tweens.
How will success be measured/determined?:
Success will be measured by attendance and engagement in the program.

Final Comments:
After the programmers' meeting and the sad news that Josh will not be continuing his Science Camp this summer, we decided we needed a way to keep the tweens entertained during the day in the library. Some ideas I have so far are a cardboard building challenge (to go with building a better world), a make your own slime day, duck-tape creations, etc. I think it will be a great way to engage with our tweens.
