How will supervisory work groups be organized after realignment. We understand that the work groups that we had last year are going away so that supervisors can be more focused on their and their staff’s strengths.

Additional questions/feedback: I ran the numbers and with the exception of Downtown and the community libraries, the libraries are staff with approximately 66% with access personnel and 33% engagement personnel. At the smaller libraries that have one access manager and one engagement manager it looks like the access manager will have twice the supervisory workload and Library Managers will only supervise Access Mangers and Engagement Supervisors. Am I correct in this assumption?
Again, this is under discussion, and we will be working the Alignment Project Committee to further define the roles and responsibilities for each position. Please see the sample staffing models we gave out at the Xchange meeting (and which are now available on the intranet) to get an idea of the reporting structure. You are correct that Access Services Managers will have more direct reports than Engagement Managers. The work of ASMs will be more tactical, and they will manage the Access Specialists Is and IIs. The number of direct reports will also be based on FTE, rather than headcount.
