Dr. John Banas, an Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Oklahoma, will discuss the fake news phenomenon & conspiracy theories. Professor Banas researches strategies to prevent persuasion to conspiracy-theory influence. His talk will address fake news, why people are attracted to conspiracy theories, historical examples of conspiracy theories, and how to prevent their influence. Ages 12 & up
