Program Description: 
Sharing in playtimes is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning and discover that the library is a destination for fun! We will conclude our play time with a brief educational story time with music, rhymes, movement, flannel board activities and a brief story. Choose the 9:30 or 10:30 session. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness.

Play and Story Time provides an ideal environment to introduce young children to the library and an introduction to books, nursery rhymes, social skills and pre-literacy skills.

Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
Families with young children have a demonstrated appreciation for having their children come to the library for a play opportunity and an introduction to books and the library. They demonstrate their continuing interest by checking out materials for their children.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Attend of 8 to 16 children at each of the play and story sessions. Families with check out library materials to use and home and use library resources such as the children's computers while at the library.
