Program Justification
Is a program the best way to meet the expressed need or present information?:
Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
One of the themes for April is "FLIGHT." Having a paper airplane contest is a great opportunity to talk about the design of airplanes. It also fits into Metropolitan's Core Value of "Commitment to Learning as Enjoyment." As children use trial and error to build their paper airplanes it will help them learn the basics of aerodynamics.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?:
I think kids will be attracted to making their own paper airplanes for competition. It will also be successful as they will have multiple challenges to compete through.
How will success be measured/determined?:
Success will be measured by not only the attendance, but also the level of involvement of those who participate.
