Program Description: 
Sharing in playtimes is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning and discover that the library is a destination for fun! We will conclude our play time with a brief holiday story time with music, rhymes, movement, flannel board activities and a holiday story. Choose the 9:30 or 10:30 session.

How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?: 
Holiday Play and Story Time provide desired and needed activities for young children to stimulate the development of language and introduce early literacy activities such as nursery rhymes and simple books. Children also have the opportunity to socialize with other children and develop social abilities. The Holiday Play and Story Time also provides a social meeting event for parents and adult caregivers.

Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
The regular offering of Play and Story Times has produced a loyal following of these opportunities. Children demonstrate that they enjoy the opportunity by their participation.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Attendance of 8 to 16 at each session of Play and Story Time. Participation by the children. Caregivers will take home resources of the library to use at home.
