Program Description: 
Calling all tweens and teens! Tonight is YOUR night to show off your talents. Do you play a musical instrument or want to practice your stand up comedy? Do you have a dramatic poem you want to perform or a story to tell? The Choctaw Library wants to be your stage. Each performer will have 10 minutes to share. We only have 9 slots, so sign up fast! To sign up for a time-slot, just call the Choctaw Library. Before, in-between and after the performances, be sure to check out our collection of materials about your talent to help hone your skill.

This program will fit into the theme and dimensions category of "Identity through Words" and "Identity through Song." This helps give our teens and tweens an opportunity to not only have their own voice and space to share their talents, but also follows our core value of "Commitment to learning through enjoyment."
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?: 
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
We hope to market it to the middle school and high school, especially the drama department. We also have had specific interest asking for us to host an open mic night.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
By attendance and participation of those involved.

We will do a book display in the community room on the day of the event about identity through song and words for customers to look through.

I have had a couple of tweens specifically ask if they could do an open mic night, so I think their interest will hopefully promote it to others!
