Program Description: 
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Come to the library for a kick-off party for Banned Books Week 2016. We’ll hang out and play games as we learn about why it’s important to protect our freedom to read. You might be surprised how many books you’ve read that have been threatened to be removed from your library. Come and celebrate the freedom to read at the Choctaw Library!

One of MLS's core values is freedom to learn. This program is to celebrate our freedom to learn and to have an open discussion as well as fun games on the importance of protecting our freedom to read.

Why will this program be successful?: 
The program will include a buffet of fun, from food, a place to take photos, and games.

I will measure success by attendance and the interest of the participants during the program.

The whole program is about banned books so I will definitely have our own selection of YA and tween books that have been challenged available in the room.

I think it will be a fun program that will primarily be for tweens, but everyone is welcome.
