Here is the list of storytime kits that people are making for the first two themes (Life Skills and Identity). I am also including a sample to help give you ideas of the things you can include in your kits. Do not feel limited to these things. If you have a great idea for something that you use in your storytimes, please include it.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
• Kits should be adaptable for children infants through age 6
• Books that are available in hardback or library binding are preferable, but larger boardbooks and paperbacks are fine.
• May include both fiction and non-fiction materials.
• Include only books that we have in system. If you have a great book that you want to include, but it isn't in system, we can request that Materials Selection purchase copies to add to our collections. Once it is added, then the book can be included in the kit.
What to include:
• 10-20 books on the topic
• 2-4 flannel board sets
• 1-2 CDs with music tied to the topic
• 3-5 songs, rhymes, or fingerplays (may overlap with flannel board sets)
• Instructions and lyrics for all songs, rhymes, games, and flannel board activities
• Itemized list of kit contents, including your name (because you created this awesome kit and you deserve the credit)
