How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?: 
Making communities smarter is one of the goals of the library system. In this case, we are assisting children with their reading skills so that they can improve in school and enjoy reading books from the library.

Find, Evaluate & Use Information: Visitors are connected with library resources at every point of contact.
Why will this program be successful?: 
We are exposing children and families to books with the hope that they will become life long readers and so that they will succeed in school and in life.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Success will initially be determined by attendance and feedback from parents, as well as from volunteers who will observe individual improvement in reading skills over time.

We will add incentives on a weekly basis through RFP, print weekly worksheets and use games that we already own at the library.
Final Comments: 
This is an ongoing program. Incentives can be purchased at between $5 & $10 weekly depending on the item and the numbers attending regularly.
