Sizzle in the Stacks

I thought about books I've read that stand out to me as romantic. Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre was the first book that came to mind. To me, "Reader, I married him." Is one of the most romantic lines in all of literature because of all the drama and intensity that came before it. Jane Eyre also contains a lot of the elements we still find in romances: a heroine with a strong sense of self who is in some kind of trouble, a wealthy hero with a tragic past and a lot of secrets, and a connection between the two main characters that seems magical, unusual, and inexplicable in its strength.
