Construction Updates - August 6, 2014
CAPITOL HILL – GREAT NEWS
- The Final Programming Report was approved on 7/31/14. (See CH Programming Report for Staff)
- Revisions to the Guernsey Architect’s contract will be presented to the OKC City Council on 8/12/14
- The Construction Budget has been finalized at $4,100,000, including abatement.
- The Economic Review Board is scheduled to review & approve the TIF Funding on 8/17
- Based upon the above, we have updated the design and construction schedule. Follows are some highlights – which of course, will change:
- Week of 8/8/14 - 1st Design Meeting with MLS, OKC, Guernsey Architects and MS+R Architects
- July 21, 2015 – Plans complete
- August 1st to August 21, 2015 – MLS moves out of CH
- August 18, 2015 – Plans issued for bidding
- Feb 21, 2017 Computer & FF & E installation begins
- April 22, 2017 - GRAND RE-OPENING
- Donna is working out some of the details of the CH Art procurement process
- I have had several questions regarding the plans for CH. On page 2, (and page 12 of the report), find a copy of the CH Land Acquisition / Expansion Plan. The Program calls for all public space to be on the ground floor. To do this, we will be adding about 7,000 sf to the east and about 1000 sf to the south, creating an area of about 17,000 sf.

EDMOND PARKING
- The parking agreement was presented and approved by the Edmond City Council on 7/28.
- Edmond needs to finalize their agreement with St Mary’s church before the design work can begin.
JONES
- MLS –CON is reviewing the project outline specifications
- Studio is working in an updated estimate as well as updated Design Development plans.
NORTHWEST
- Atlas will start the warranty work on August 14th. It is expected to take 3 to 4 weeks.
- It will involve closing of the drive up book return on intermittent bases - DURING THE DAY ONLY. The 1st time it will be closed will be August 14th.
- It will involve the closing the entry off of 122nd street starting Sunday, August 17. It will be closed for 5 to 7 days.
- It will include repairs to the folding partition.
- OKC is looking for funding to pay for the repairs to the derrick glazing system.
