Collared Lizard

The collared lizard was designated the State Reptile of Oklahoma in 1969. Also known as the “Mountain Boomer,” these colorful lizards are known to occasionally run upright on their hindlegs like small dinosaurs. Their name is derived from the prominent black bands or “collars” on their necks.
