Construction Updates - August 7, 2013
- BELLE ISLE – MLS met with OKC on 7/25 to review the status of the Belle Isle project. Based upon projected bond sales, the BI construction bonds are scheduled to be sold in March, 2017. If the construction plans are completed by January, this work could be ready to award in May 2017. To accomplish this, the architect would need to be selected in late 2015, and any financial support which may be provided by MLS would need to be finalized in the summer of 2015.
- CAPITOL HILL – The contract for CH’s architectural, Guernsey, is (finally) on the agenda for August 13th. The first task involves a review the MLS programming requirements (MLS service plans and space needed). A report is to be submitted to OKC / MLS 60 days after award. LET THE FUN BEGIN.
- DEL CITY – Del City is reviewing the project agreement information that MLS has provided.
- DOWNTOWN
- Water Leaks – An all day meeting with OKC, Studio Architects and MLS to review the history of the leaks has been scheduled for August 20th, 2013.
- Park Avenue / 180 Project – Based upon discussions with OKC, an update design concept for 180 Project was provided on 7/23/13. While not finalized, the updated plan will add another handicapped parking space near Hudson, preserve the drop off lane, preserve the planting beds and remove the white concrete.
- EDMOND – Edmond met with St Mary’s Church on July 31st to see if they are interested in selling land to Edmond for an expanded parking area. A response is expected later this month.
- JONES – As you may know, the design process has been halted as we update the project budget. The following steps are needed to restart the process: 1) update the budget, 2) finalize funding arrangements, 3) update the architect’s contract and 4) update the project agreement. We hope to complete the above by the end of the month.
