New Building

Staff will help ensure a welcoming experience for future customers while we assist in the planning stages for a new building, and will also be involved in gathering data and compiling wish lists to help in the design of a new space.
- 1/13: "Request for Qualifications" received from 11 architectural firms interested in renovating the Capitol Hill Library.
- 3/13: Review of Capitol Hill's shelving/programming space needs.
- 5/13: The project agreement that outlines the city's responsibilities and the library's responsibilities for the renovation of Capitol Hill is approved by the Library Commission.
- 8/13: The OKC City Council approves the project schedule and architectural design work begins with Guernsey.
- 9/13: A "Space Needs Recap" was issued to the Metropolitan Libary System's CH Design Team for review, and comments were reviewed during a conference call with Guernsey Architects and MSR, the library consultant. This information is to be used to develop site schemes for the project.
- 10/13: Guernsey's CH Programming Report submitted to CH Design Team for review.
