Southern Oaks Library
6900 S. Walker
Oklahoma City, OK 73139
The Southern Oaks Library, established in 1975, stands out prominently against a background of trees & small creek just ΒΌ mile north of I-240. This people oriented recently underwent an extensive renovation to help continue to meet the diverse cultural, educational, and informational needs of South Oklahoma City and County. At the time of the Grand Re-Opening, which occurred September 25, 2012, the renovated location features nearly 1,878 in new square footage and 1,593 in reclaimed square footage (from the previously existing garage) for a total addition of nearly 3,500 square feet. Also, the library contains a refreshed collection, a new and expanded public meeting room, new quiet study rooms, captivating art inside and out by acclaimed local artist Joe Slack, and an overall rejuvenated look and feel.
