Services Offered:

Borrow materials from other library collections for MLS customers
Lend materials from MLS collection to other libraries for their customers
Serve as liaison between MLS and borrowing/lending libraries
ILL support
- Respond to queries from MLS staff
- Status of borrow request
- Reason for unavailability of requested material
- Reset status of incorrectly received ILL materials so that MLS staff are able to receive the material
- Explain operation of ILL VCirc
- Explain MLS ILL policies and procedures
- Supply prices for materials borrowed through ILL when appropriate or when requested
- Request system special stops for customers with ILL materials overdue more than 60 days
- Notify MLS customers when requested material is unavailable for borrowing
- Invoice borrowing libraries for unreturned materials lent from the MLS collection; collect payment for such items
Provide training in effectively providing ILL services at the library level
Return materials owned by Pioneer Library System inadvertently returned at MLS locations

To borrow materials, complete and submit ILL request form available at all MLS libraries
- If material has been published in the current or previous year, submit a request for purchase to Materials Selection; note “please ILL if not purchased” in the comments area
