November 15-November 24, 2021

Innovation Subcommittee

Meeting highlights 11/15/2021

  • Brainstormed ideas for definition of Innovation ;
  • Conducted a SWOT analysis ;
  • Created an initial definition slogan ;
  • Brainstormed clarifying statements ;
  • Members will continue to add feedback to SharePoint to keep the ideation moving ;
  • Definition will be finalized at the next meeting.

  • Reviewed feedback gathered by members ;
  • Established key words that the group values for its definition ;
  • Conducted a SWOT analysis ;
  • Established a definition and bullet points to clarify ;
  • Open discussion of goals the committee would like to achieve with this Core Value.

Integrity Subcommittee

Meeting highlights 11/19/2021

  • Brainstormed ideas for definition based on input through SharePoint and Teams ;
  • Created a draft definition of Integrity ;
  • Began discussion of action statements to accompany the definition ;
  • Members will continue to add feedback through Teams until December 10 ;
  • Will conduct a virtual SWOT analysis by December 10.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Subcommittee

Meeting highlights 11/23/2021

  • Brainstormed ideas for definitions based on input through SharePoint and Teams ;
  • Reviewed draft of an anonymous survey to be sent to all staff shortly, asking for input on how MLS is doing at EDI and where we can make improvements ;
  • Agreed on final survey questions ;
  • Reviewed the updated timeline for subcommittee work and goals for future meetings ;
  • Chairs introduced a Duties Assigned document on SharePoint as a means of tracking members’ tasks ;
  • Agreed that subcommittee members will begin department interviews immediately.

People First Subcommittee

Meeting highlights 11/17/2021

  • Mark and Judie provided an overview of the latest steering committee updates
  • The group shared their processes for gathering staff feedback and discussed what excited them most about the information they’d collected
  • Discussion about whether people were coming “first” in our organizational decision-making, what may need to come second, third, or further down the list? (Procedures, brand consistency, etc.)
  • Discussed partnering with departments to help communication People First once a definition is agreed upon
  • Discussed past challenges to adpoting a People First mentality and the importance of recognizing staff contributions (in the future) to committee memberships and to larger (i.e. systemwide) decision-making processes
  • The group collaborated on a “sand box” definition of People First, contributing in real-time to a document of verbiage
  • The group discussed future goals and the objectives of future meetings
