Construction Updates - March 18th, 2015

  • GENERAL
    • CIP & GO BOND NEEDS / LONG RANGE CAPITAL PROJECTS REVIEW
      • Tim, Kay, Anne, Karen, Lloyd & Todd continue to meet to review the proposed funding requests for the OKC projects at AL & BI and other locations. 
      • The discussions also include a review of the projects for DC, BE, ED-2, & VI.
      • All of this is in preparation for the MLC - Long Range Planning Committee scheduled for April 6th at BI at 3:00.
  • CAPITOL HILL – DESIGN WORK
    • The Final Preliminary Report was submitted on 3/18 and is expected to be presented to OKC Council for approval on March 31.
    • Approval of this report will release the architect to begin he final design phase – CD’s or Construction Documents.
    • UPDATE: The current schedule calls for MLS to move-out no later than 10/20.
  • CAPITOL HILL – TEMP SPACE
    • On 3/10, MLS met with the church that owns the gym located at 330 SW 24th St.  We reviewed the improvements needed to transform the space into a library.
    • If all goes well, we will finalize a lease with the church in April.
  • EDMOND
    • On 3/11, the 1st Edmond Parking Lot Design Meeting was held.   The surveyor has been released to confirm field conditions; his report is expected at the end of the month. 
    • An updated schedule for the work has not been provided but my guess is the work will start after summer reading.
  • EDMOND- 2
    • The Capital Improvement Advisory Task Force is charged with identifying future long term capital improvement projects for the City of Edmond.  They have met twice already and are set to meet twice a month.  
    • The task force indicated they may ask the stake holders (Fire, Police, Parks, Roads and the library) to make presentations.  
    • A report, either supporting or not supporting the election is to be submitted to Edmond City Council in November.  And if supporting ( as anticipated)  the report is to include a lists of projects that should be included
