Construction Updates - June 11, 2014

BETHANY

  • On June 3rd, the Bethany City council discussed a possible GO Bond Election which might include funding for a library expansion.

The City of OKC / MLS GENERAL

  • The City of Oklahoma City & MLS are working on an updated lease agreement.
  • The City of OKC has provided a form to request Capital Improvement Project funding based on a revolving 5 year schedule. The requests for these projects will be issued once a year to the City of OKC and may include a tour of each library.

CAPITOL HILL
As Construction continues to work to get the design work started, the following critical items are needed:

  • Issue the Final Programming Report
    • Guernsey issued the final report, yesterday (June 10th).
  • Approve the CH Project Agreement Amendment
    • Approved by the MLC on May 15th, it is on the City Council’s agenda for June 17th.
  • Negotiations & Approval of Guernsey Architects Contract Revisions
    • Negotiations started on May 23rd. Todd hopes this can be concluded in 2 weeks.
    • If possible, the design work should be released in early July.
  • Issue an Updated Schedule

DOWNTOWN

  • Project 180 – Park Ave work bid on June 3rd and was significantly over budget. The City of OKC will likely rebid the project. It appears that the rebid will be later this summer.

EDMOND PARKING

  • Construction will not be able to present a Project Agreement for this work to the Commission in June. Todd believes it may be presented in July.

JONES

  • The street is complete. The sign installed by the Oklahoma County states, “This project is made possible by the taxpayers and employees of Oklahoma County District One.”
  • The road still needs a name.
  • The fire hydrant is in too.

   
NORTHWEST

  • Atlas has tentatively scheduled the warranty work to start on August 18th. It is expected to take 3 weeks and will involve closing the entry off of 122nd street for 5 to 7 days. The other work includes the replacement of broken glass, folding partition repairs and repairs to the outside fire sprinkler system.
  • The City of OKC & MLS met on May 28th to review the next step regarding repairs to the derrick glazing system. No decision yet.
  • SRB Engineering is working on modification to the drainage channel.
