Construction Updates - January 22, 2014

  • CAPITOL HILL
    • OKC & MLS continues to make progress on securing additional funding for the project.  Part of this process includes updating; Guernsey’s Programming Report; the MLS Project agreement; the A&E contract and the Project Schedule.  I believe that the design work will begin in March.

  • DEL CITY
    • Demolition of the bowling alley is scheduled to begin this month.
    • The 1st MLS Design Team meeting was held on Thursday, 1/9.  We met to review the early program requirements which where developed in late 2011/12.  Planning and Materials Selection are currently reviewing the collection needs.  Our next meeting is scheduled for 2/7/14.

  • EDMOND PARKING
    • Edmond and MLS met with Jim Davis 1/17 to review the current “design” progress.  Jim presented plans which; add 16 parking spaces, closes access to the alley and adds 10 parking spaces on 1st St.
    • The 95% concept plans are due on 1/24 and the final plans and the probable cost estimate are due February 14th.
    • At present, it is expected that this information will be presented to the Commission in March.
    • If all is approved, the design work could start shortly thereafter and construction could start in August.

  • JONES
    • An updated elevation of the Jones Library was approved by Jones and MLS on 1/17.  The Design Development plans (phase 3 of the 4 step design process) are expect early March.

  • NORTHWEST
    • Final training for NW Staff was held on January 8th and they have been given the keys.  A few punch list item of work remain and project close out documentation is still needed.
    • The installation of the additional lights in the Children’s Program Room has been re-scheduled for the week of February 17th.
    • A draft Bollard Replacement Plan was submitted to OKC on 1/15 for comments.
    • OKC & MLS  continues to work on outstanding Warranty issues.
