Construction Updates - February 20, 2013

  • ALMONTE - Doors were opened on Monday, February 4th and a Re-Opening Reception was held on Tuesday, February 19th.  MLS had 1469 visits and issued 47 new library cards in the first week of opening.
  • CAPITOL HILL – Four architects were interviewed by The City of Oklahoma City & the Metropolitan Library System on Monday, February 18th.  The City’s goal remains to have the chosen architect under contract by mid-April. 
  • DOWNTOWN – The City of OKC expects to select an architect for the Downtown Library water leak investigation within the next 30 to 60 days.
  • JONES – Studio issued the Schematic Design (SD) submittal on Monday, February 18th.  This information has been provided to the MLS-Jones design team which includes Donna, Kay, Karen, Anne, Aaron and Todd.  MLS is to provide comments to Studio on Monday, February 25th and they will meet on the Wednesday the 27th to discuss these comments. An undated estimate was also provided which shows MLS-Jones is a little out of budget however, there is still time to define & refine the requirements.   
  • NORTHWEST – On Monday, February 18th MLS had a positive meeting with The City of OKC where many issues were discussed.  The City of OKC has indicated they are willing to cover the amount to replace parking lot bollards.
  • SOUTHERN OAKS – Some minor issues remain and MLS is working to secure the final close-out documentation.
