Regarding my own efforts at communication - I focus on a different location in my region each month, and this month it's Village. I hold "skip-level" one on ones, attend workgroup and staff meetings, work from the library, etc., to remain visible and approachable, and to share updates and check for understanding. It's my priority that staff in my region feel comfortable approaching me and being candid with me. I am in administration, and I know the higher levels always get the lowest marks for trust, communication, etc., but I can do my own small part to help overcome that for my own locations.

Organized and implemented the Capitol Hill Value Awards (2nd Annual) to celebrate our staff locally and to help increase teamwork and morale in the branch. Each person had an opportunity to submit award options for everyone at the branch. I synthesized the information and gave each person a certificate with various awards specific to their strengths, experiences, and achievements.
Worked on coordinating a new repeating digital program with other librarians/programmers in the system. Utilizing teams and email to schedule and create the specifics for the programs.
Communicating with a local teacher about needs for her digital classroom and ways the library can help present our services to her students digitally, including databases, our online collection, and trouble-shooting technology issues.

I'll start with the communication I've been working on in the past two weeks. I'm part of the Native American Heritage Month steering committee, and we're at the point where we are finalizing programming. That involved emailing presenters, emailing coworkers, Zoom and MS Teams meetings with stakeholders, and brainstorming with those around me. It is going to be a fantastic month. I'm particularly excited about two programs: A DISCUSSION ON TRIBAL SOVEREIGNTY WITH DR. C. BLUE CLARK and NATIVE AMERICANS IN MEDIA -DISCUSSION WITH BIRD RUNNINGWATER, DIRECTOR, INDIGENOUS PROGRAM AND DEI AT SUNDANCE INSTITUTE. Getting the Director of Indigenous Program at the Sundance Film Institute is HUGE and was completely my coworker Sabrina Little Axe. I am in awe of her for many reasons. We're going to begin contacting stakeholders and community partners (OKC Film, colleges, high schools, etc) to let them know what we have in store.
