Saurophaganax Dinosaur

The saurophaganax dinosaur was designated the State Fossil of Oklahoma in 2000. Known as “The King of the Reptile Eaters,” it roamed present-day Oklahoma in the Jurassic Period and has been called “the greatest predator of earth’s history.” The dinosaur is holding books showing other state animals including the bullfrog, bat, honeybee, scissor-tailed flycatcher, and black swallowtail butterfly.

Solomon Bassoff

Biographical Information: 

Solomon Bassoff of Faducci Studio has developed uncommon applications of hand sculpted concrete enhanced with applied Italian glass mosaic. His whimsical and expressive sculptures have received enthusiastic acclaim and have been acquired by both public and private collections. He has received commissions from Woodland Park Zoo, WA; Sacramento Parks and Public Gardens, CA; Sundial Bridge, CA; and Central Davis Gardens, CA. Through exhaustive research, he has developed a technique of hand sculpted concrete that has changed the view of a common material into detailed sculptural applications.

Solomon was born in 1952 and is self-taught in the exploration of concrete. He lives in the foothills of California.
