The Metropolitan Library System (“Library”) provides workers' compensation insurance benefits to all employees who experience an injury or illness that arises out of the course and scope of employment.
All Library employees are covered under the provisions of applicable state workers’ compensation laws. Workers’ compensation covers employees’ reasonable and necessary medical expenses and provides weekly income for lost time from work due to an accident or an illness deemed compensable under the workers’ compensation law. Employees are required to report all work-related accidents, injuries, and illnesses as detailed in Library procedure SH 540.1 [6].
