REPORTS

Construction Management – Out of the Office

Administration / Commission – Donna discussed her recent visit to Washington, D.C. to advocate for libraries and her visit with four local Representatives at the event.

Donna informed the Ad Team that she will attend the ground breaking ceremony for John W. Rex Elementary Charter School on Friday, May 24th and ask them to join her if interested.

Finance & Support – Lloyd announced Belle Isle’s carpeting is now complete and Choctaw’s new carpet is being installed. The carpet pattern for each library is similar but the colors are different.

The A&P Committee met last Friday and they have approved the preliminary budget.

Information Technology – The IT Department has completed the PCI Compliance for another year.

Technicians have been spending time at Belle Isle Library. Now they’ll be making their way to the Choctaw Library to situate items due to new carpeting.

Anne have been visiting with workers at Pinnacle Business Systems, an Edmond based company, about back up & storage solutions. Anne is working to have the information written up to show Commissioners at the June meeting.

The IT Department is working the RFP for the ILS system as well.

Development – Diane reported the Warr Acres Public Arts Committee met last week and they have selected a piece of artwork by Randy Vaughn from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
The Warr Acres Public Arts Committee will show the chosen artwork to Commissioners at the meeting tomorrow. They will not submit for the art's approval at this time.

Friends Annual Meeting is Tuesday, May 21st at the Northwest Library.

Facilities Maintenance – No New Reports

Human Resources – Lori stated that over half of MLS Staff Members completed their Safety Training within the first week.

The Human Resources Department is working on the budget and Healthcare Reform Certification Regulations.

Kelley and Kasandra are busy with the Wellness Program and new software.

MAC – Kim reported the Marketing Department is focused on creating advertisements and PR for the 2013 Summer Reading Program.

MAC is currently editing the Summer Reading website and making the information accurate and consistent with this year’s program. Kim wants to make sure that people do not confuse “Summer at the Library” with the “Summer Reading Game”.

Kim is also working on creating a theme for Belle Isle’s 50th Anniversary coming up in September.

Materials & Outreach – Karen announced great news for the eMedia world. One of the big six publishers ‘Hatchet’ is now selling to libraries.

Karen also announced that Freegal Music Download will be available to customers in July.

Outreach – On Vacation

Library Operations & Planning – Kay stated the porta potties were installed at Ralph Ellison Library and they reopened their doors yesterday around 6pm.

The animated Summer Reading pages go up today and Kay encouraged the Ad Team to visit Metrolibrary.org.

Library Operations (Headquarters) – Candace reported Metro Transit will have two public meetings at the Downtown Library – Noon to 2pm & 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, May 21st
