REPORTS

Human Resources – Lori stated 89 people are participating in the ‘Lighten Up Challenge’. MLS staff has lost a total of 228 pounds thus far.   Monday, April 1st begins the new ‘Move-It Challenge’ and HR has begun taking orders for new Actipeds to until Friday, March 1st. Lori also reported the Human Resources Department is in the process of filling eight open positions.

MAC – The Marketing Department is finishing up work from previous weeks.

Kim announced that Overdrive published a blog yesterday, also featured on the Intranet discussing the MLS eMedia commercial and eBooks.

The Addy Awards is Saturday, February 23rd at the Coca Cola Event Center.

Materials & Outreach – Karen attended the Almonte Reception and thanked the Ad-Team for their contributions leading up to opening. Karen is going to the book-sale today to look for additional materials for Almonte and other library locations. Materials & Outreach has completed the backlogs of materials that were ready to be transferred to Almonte.

Outreach – Dana handed out the Downtown Library Noon Tunes schedule for March & April.

Dana visited Northwest Library on Sunday and she stated there were over 167 people for the Swinging & Singing in Deep Deuce program.

Library Operations & Planning – Kay handed out charts showing Almonte Library visits since opening day. On the first day of opening there were 172 visits total. On Monday, February 18th there were 353 visits total. The following day there were 491 visits total, highest occupancy was 82 people. Kay stated the Almonte Library is doing very well and total visits per day are increasing.

Kay stated the Annual Statistic Report will be in the Commission Packet.

Library Operations – Denyvetta is still in the process of filling two open Managers of Operations’ positions.

Library Operations (Headquarters) – Candace reported 160 people were in attendance at the Almonte Library Reception. Everything went well and the visitors enjoyed themselves.

Candace is currently looking for locations to present the 2013 Staff Recognition Dinner.

She is also finishing up the Safety Training Manual updates.

Administration / Commission – Donna thanked the Ad-Team for their attendance at the Almonte Reception on Tuesday.

Donna stated the architect interviews for Capitol Hill went well.

Donna is working with Barbara Beasley on the Warr Acres Library parking lot issues.

Finance & Support – Lloyd is starting on the budget, and continuing work from previous weeks.

Information Technology – Anne reported RFI’s were received from five ILS vendors this week.

Development – Diane reported the Friends Book Sale is this weekend and 75 Staff Members signed up to volunteer.

The Development Department is working on next year library requests for Friends of the Library. Diane asked the Ad-Team to let her know of any items their department may need this year in order to send a request to the Friends of the Library within the next two weeks.

The Library Endowment Trust’s Investment Committee has asked to meet with Diane, Lloyd Lovely and Donna Morris to discuss and set long-term investment plans.

Facilities Maintenance – Patrick announced the towel & soap dispensers are not installed throughout the Downtown Library.

The Maintenance Department has delivered a few oil paintings to the Northwest Library last week.
