The Friends of the Metropolitan Library System will host their annual large book event  - Booksale 2024! - at the end of February. The best way to get all the event info. is to peruse the website: www.supportmls.org/booksale [2]!

The event will be free and open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, February 24 and 25 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Oklahoma Expo. Building at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Using 3213 Wichita Walk, OKC in the map app of your choice should get you there!

Those who have paid memberships  [3]to the Friends of the Library are invited to shop the member presale on Friday, February 23 from 1 pm to 7 pm at the same address. Members receive tickets either via mail or at the member will call the table for entry to this event.

Volunteers [4] for the event get the BEST benefit and that is their exclusive pre-shop on Thursday, February 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. If you would like to volunteer on your own, unpaid time and it doesn't interfere with your work schedule, the Friends would be delighted to have you join us!

Teachers, home educators, and nonprofits are invited to take sale remainders on Sunday, February 25 at 6 pm. We ask they register in advance at www.supportmls.org/npt [5].

This event brings over 25,000 guests to the metro to shop at great prices to build their home libraries and support OUR library system. Books are in two rooms for this sale. General Room books are $1 for a paperback and $2 for a hardback (children's items are half this price). Books in the Better Books Room are usually signed, rare, or in better condition. Those start at $3 and up. CDs, DVDs, Vinyl, withdrawn PlayAways, games, and puzzles are also available at this event. All proceeds will go to support staff scholarships and the growth of funding for early childhood literacy outreach in Oklahoma County - primarily our outreach through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book gifting program.
