Ad-Team Minutes - April 15, 2015

Submitted by jasmine.shumaker on Fri, 04/17/2015 - 15:53

Expected Outcomes:

  • To identify staff groups who need custom MLS name badges.
  • To familiarize the group with staff input provided from the MLS Planning Survey.

Agenda Items

  1. Name badges (Kim Terry) – Name badges would be intended for MLS employees who spend a great deal of time working with the public (Outreach, managers, DEDs, Ad Team, etc.).  The purpose is to have a more readable identifier when employees are out representing the library system. Each Ad Team member will provide Kim Terry/MaC with a list of employees within the library system who may need such badges.
  2. MLS Planning Survey (Tim Rogers) – 142 MLS employees completed the survey that was intended to gauge impressions staff members held on the library system. The survey asked staff members what the library system’s purpose was, the library system’s priorities, changes that should be made, and how the individual’s department could implement change. Results of the survey will be presented to supervisors at the X-Change meeting on April 21st. All other remaining staff will see the survey’s results after the meeting.

Reports

  • Anne, IT: Beginning April 16th at 10am, the MediaSurfers will be delivered to Almonte, Capitol Hill, Ralph Ellison, and Southern Oaks libraries.

  • LaVetta, OUT: Summer Reading materials/supplies are now arriving.

  • Todd, CON: The Capitol Hill temporary space lease has been signed.

  • Tim, DIR: Dwight Lawson of the Oklahoma City Zoo would like to work with the library system in order to promote the zoo. Promotions would take place throughout the year. This could be done through a video or a children’s book that involves the zoo. Ideally, free tickets to the zoo would be awarded to those who check the book out and then back in. Dwight Lawson would set a cap of how many free tickets would be available. The short term goal would be how do we as the library system do something now for the zoo. The long term goal would be how do we get other institutions involved in our endeavors to help the zoo. The key is to build partnerships with other groups within the metro area.

  • Kim, MaC: Promotional goods are now in the elevators at Penn Square Mall. They will be available to view for the remainder of April
