Report from LaVetta
Looking at dates for Raisin’ Canes to set up lemonade stands at 4-5 libraries, possibly the week of July 4th because program attendance is low
The committee looked at the drawing prize list and discussed distribution.
We will have numerous coupons from the following sponsors that can be handed out directly to customers:
Half Price Books
Red Pin Bowling
OKC Energy
BJ’s
Will be ordering incentives soon
Report from Kay
This is the first year we can have card numbers validated by the system, but Summer Reader will not populate our fields with this data. We maintain that we don’t want to limit summer reading to only those customers who have library cards.
We need to clarify what a “valid” library card means for when we do drawings.
Monitors
Emily tested monitors in several locations. AL & VI’s former sign-up monitors did not have USB ports (only HDMI). The TV in Village’s meeting room had a USB drive and the slideshow worked. CT and NW’s monitors have USB ports but we could not find the right display input to make them work. Many libraries have monitors bought at various times and with different technical capabilities.
We will most likely need to research photo frames for Summer Reading, which can also be used throughout the year. Emily will contact Edmond for more information about theirs.
Photo releases need to be available and information about how to process them, for those customers who ask us to use our iPads to take their pictures at the Celebration Station.
Items left to be completed:
Monitors, photo sharing, iPads– procedures, photo releases, training on how to upload & tag
Inventive purchases/book order
Training
Volunteers
MAC printed pieces
Website
Displays
Drawing prizes
Supply catalog – OUT
Email newsletters
Fine waivers – CarlX/how to record
Library media specialist breakfast
Future ITR meetings
Brief meeting with or reports from involved people (Kellie, Heidi, Stacy, Kim?) on or around 3/12
We need to redefine the original ITR goal list and update it, including adding answers to the goals we met last year. This new draft of goals should be reviewed so our committee can add updates and finalize. We want to help staff understand all the pieces of our process and why were are doing new things.
add our new goals of connecting customers to library resources at every point of contact, and bridging the physical and virtual worlds
