3:00 Summer Reading Debrief
What went well?
- WA had the best teen volunteers (12)
- Points – went well
- Easier to grasp because of the activities
- Points = reward / time = chore
- Activity sheets went well – very appreciated
What didn’t go well?
- SR - Didn’t seem like it was a big thing
- Seemed subdued
- Probably because Beanstack is more popular
- The exhibit was downtown so the theme didn’t have same impact
- Space was the national theme – so it wasn’t themed
- Didn’t have the same theme as national theme
- Too many teen volunteers – didn’t have enough for volunteers to do
Ideas for next year
- Maybe cap teen volunteers
- Volunteer task basket
3:15 Teen Volunteer Recognition Party Debrief – Heidi Port, DVS
Heidi asked for stories about this summer’s teen volunteers. We also discussed the volunteer recognition event at the Downtown Library. The only complaint was from Kassy’s teens who wished it was longer!
- Balloon drop was huge
- Add more balloons
- Survey teen volunteers for their thoughts
- “it was lit”
