Missing Pieces: 

  • Process missing pieces as usual.
  • All returned materials still need to be directed to the book return. 
  • If a customer is returning a disc, staff may give the customer a case to put it in and have them write their name or library card on a sticky note to go with the item.  Staff should let customers know that the library will process the items in 3 days.
  • Collection Development waiting 3 days to process interoffice mail.

Fines assessed during closure:

  • If a customer was assessed a fine during closure, cancel the fines.
  • Encourage customers to pay fines online. 

Tricia still needs volunteers for Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting from 1:30-2:00:  Please email Tricia if you are interested in volunteering.

Group Discussion

We discussed:

  • What has been going well during Phase 1.
  • Struggles that their teams and/or they have experienced during opening.  The group shared ideas, suggestions, tips that had worked for them, and support to help solve difficult situations.
  • How their library’s curbside service was organized from getting the customer call to taking the books to the vehicle, as well as how many staff members work the curbside service at one time.
  • How locations with security guards utilized them.   
  • Tasks and activities performed by staff who were not working curbside delivery.

Access Tele-Work Tasks   

Tricia shared a document that she created called “Access Tele-Work Ideas” which lists training suggestions for Access staff working remotely.  She asked the group to add suggestions to the list.

Bonus Bag   

VI, MC, and BI shared their experience for the Bonus Bag program, which will begin at all locations Monday.  Jill will be sending everyone the script that her staff will use when talking to customers.
