Re: Communications on Metropolitan Library System Compensation/Classification and Performance Development Studies

The purpose of this memo is to update you about the Compensation/Classification and Performance Development studies for the Metropolitan Library System. The Compensation and Classification Study is now complete. We will be onsite February 14th – 16th to meet with all staff in a series of communication sessions to provide information on study findings and recommendations and to answer any questions you may have. We will send out the communication session schedule as soon as it is finalized. The meeting format will be like those held at the beginning of these projects last February.

Preliminary project findings and recommendations have been shared with many constituent groups over the last few weeks. We have conducted a virtual meeting with the Compensation Project Committee and have had numerous discussions with Interim Executive Director Kay Bauman and Director of Human Resources Kelley Hoffman.  They have shared this information with library leadership and the chair of the Administrative and Personnel (A&P) Committee of the Commission. We will be presenting this information in a virtual session to the A&P Committee on February 1st.

We are in the final Stages of the Performance Development study. The Library is currently in the process of reviewing how to integrate the new performance development system into Paycom, and once that has been finalized we will be conducting training sessions for supervisors and staff on the new system. We will keep you updated on our progress.

While onsite, in addition to the all staff communication sessions, we will be meeting with the full Commission along with the Compensation Project Committee. Please plan to attend a staff communication session to learn more about how the project will affect you and what the next steps will be.

The hotline is still open, so please continue to use it - [email protected] to ask questions or provide information to us.

Again, thank you for your participation in these important projects!
