In just two days, Summer Reading begins! The Marketing and Communications team has put together a commercial for both TV and radio advertising the start of summer reading! Have you seen it on air yet?  

We’re showing staff an exclusive extended version of that commercial right here! Thank you to everyone who helped us put together this commercial, including Djimon Jones, Shree Ranebenur, Megan Schafer, Duncan Rowan, and others! If you see any of your movie star coworkers around, show them some love!  

The OES team and the Staff & Volunteer Engagement SR Subcommittee have done an excellent job keeping everyone up-to-date, and you can find more information on how you can get prepared for Summer Reading on the internal summer reading page [2].

Start thinking about the books you want to read, and feel free to ask your coworkers for recommendations. If you’re feeling stumped, check out the lovely reviews in the Info Magazine provided by our librarians! You should begin to see the June/July edition of the Info Magazine soon! If you have read something great and would like to share it, please let Megan in Marketing know by email ([email protected] [5]) and your recommendation could be featured on the library’s social media accounts. Spread the excitement by sharing your own Summer Reading progress on social media, and encourage your friends and family to register today!  

To keep everyone up-to-date, these are the Summer Reading goals, highlights, details, and changes for 2023, as outlined by our OES team.  

• 600 Points- one goal level for all ages 
• Prizes same for all ages  
• No Fine Waivers since we are fine free 
• Activity Logs for all ages 
• Community Goal of 12 million points 
• Prize pickup will take place during the duration of the program, June 1-July 31, with a 2-week (unadvertised) grace period that will end Aug 15  
• Read It Foward books will be donated if we reach our Community Goal of 12 million points; this year's recipient is the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma  
• Teen Volunteers will be back in full force! 
• Guests can keep reading past 600 points for additional entries into the drawings.
