Maintenance Work Prioritization - Handout

  • MTC provided a chart with examples of situations that would fall into each category (emergency, urgent, rush, routine, and scheduled). 
  • MTC Leadership Team will triage the requests daily and categorize in Maintenance Connection to give each request a priority.
  • This document will be turned into posters and sent to all locations as well as emailed to all staff.
  • Roll out will be January 1, 2020.

​Surveys – Larry White

  • Department Surveys are being sent out to see how they are perceived by internal and external (when applicable) customers. The first department was Operations. Strategic Planning and Projects will be branching out to other departments based on a schedule created for 2020.
  • Surveys run approximately two weeks at a time. The data is aggregated and presented to the departments with a strategy on how to move forward to excel at providing customer service.
  • Response Rate - 30 to 55% response rate - in line with what they expect.

Larry White

Leadership participated in the second half of the Mission Statement activity. Larry will combine the results and report back at the next LT.

DEPARTMENT UPDATES

Heather Zeoli

  • Special Friends of RE dissolving in January 2020.
  • Communication will be sent out in a positive way to those involved.
  • Friends Christmas party was hosted on 12/04/19.
  • Trust invitations went out to current donors.
  • Gearing up for budget planning for 2020.

Milissa Copeland

  • A summary report was provided on Staff Development Day 2019. This data will be used in planning for future Staff Development Day events.
  • XChange is required for all levels of Supervisors and above. They are scheduled out until April 2020. If one is missed, a makeup session will be required.
  • eResources Training - 15 workshop offerings- all are welcome to attend.

Anne Fischer

  • IT has a lot of moves going on across the system.
  • Working on bides bids for the sorter for the SC and the vehicle bid.

Ed Dillard

  • With the dry weather, we are in a time of high fires and they can get out of control quickly. Should there be a fire outside of a library location contact 911 and Security asap. These situations can get out of control quickly. Security will review footage and try to make sure there isn't a bigger security issue tied in with the incidents.
  • New Security Company starting on January 1, 2020. - TriCorps Security - local company, but nationwide.
    • TriCorps will be hosting a job fair in the next two weeks at NW and CH.
  • Access to the 4th floor - only unlocked unless there is a scheduled event call security desk - 3745 and they will let you on the floor.

Kim Terry

  • Working on RFP to get wayfinding signage for various libraries.
  • United Way - Donations – Staff were given passes which will be turned into their supervisors to wear jeans on that day. The button must be worn to signify why jeans are being worn.

Larry White

Working on a lot of surveys.

Dennis McCullough

MC air/heater part will not be available for another month. The contractor is at MC is going to get the blower working to provide some heat to staff.

Anthony Herron

Ed Dillard, Security Manager is retiring on December 27th, 2019 after six years. His service to MLS is very much appreciated.

Public Services

Mark Schuster

  •  DC groundbreaking on December 2, 2019 — Large turnout included the “Original DC Library Manager” to assist with groundbreaking.

Pauline Rodriguez-Atkins

  • ILL upgrade went off well with IT’s help and marketing
  • Customers will have to set up new passwords

Risa Sargent

Carrie Blumert (County Commissioner) is on tour of the libraries and is participating in various events at those locations.

Chris Kennedy

Regional Directors have been re-assigned regions, keeping at least one they had before. These are positive changes that will increase efficiencies across the System.

Julie Ballou

Four artists are being considered for the CH public art display.
