Training for Summer Reading 2019: Wild About Reading!

Submitted by jessica.gonzalez on Mon, 04/01/2019 - 16:53

Summer Reading training is here! This morning you should have received an email from L&D with a link to access your online training course in EduBrite. This year's online, self-guided Summer Reading training must be completed by May 1, 2019.

To familiarize yourself with the 2019 Summer Reading Program, Wild About Reading, Engagement and Program Services (EPS) asks that all staff complete a self-guided Summer Reading training by performing various tasks in Beanstack and watching a Summer Reading Program video.

After you watch a brief training video in EduBrite and work through various scenarios in Beanstack (the scenario instructions are noted in EduBrite), you will return to EduBrite to take a one question assessment confirming that you have completed your training. These actions are designed to provide you with an overview of the program along with the procedures our customers  (and you as staff members)  will need to complete to sign up, track reading, claim prizes and more!

Summer Reading 2019 Public Services Staff Training  (Required)

  • Summer Reading Training Video

This training should be completed by May 1, 2019.

EPS encourages staff to work together on their self-guided training in Beanstack. If you are a new staff member, you might find it beneficial to work on your training with a staff member who is familiar with Beanstack and the Summer Reading program. If you have any questions, need assistance, or notice any inconsistencies during your self-guided Beanstack training, please contact EPS ([email protected] [1]).

After you complete your self-guided training, make sure to explore the additional resource material on the Summer Reading Intranet page [2].  More content will be added over the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!

In addition to this online training, a more extensive face-to-face Summer Reading training is required for Engagement Managers, Access Managers, and new staff hired since June 30, 2018. New ASI’s are strongly encouraged, but not required to attend the face-to-face training.  Access Managers & Engagement Managers will act as Summer Reading subject matter experts for their libraries. Staff who would like to attend the face-to-face training, but are not required, may sign up by logging into EduBrite [3] and searching for 2019 Summer Reading. Staff who are required to attend the face-to-face training should make sure to sign up, if they have not already!

The face-to-face training sessions are being offered on the following dates:

  • April 9 -  NW  10-12, 1:30-3:30
  • April 13 - CH  10-12  (Saturday)
  • April 18 - MC  10-12, 1:30-3:30
  • April 23 - CH  10-12
  • April 24 - BI  5:15-7:00

If you have any questions about Summer Reading Training, please contact EPS ([email protected] [1]). Thank you for helping to make Summer Reading 2019 a success!
