Good morning,

As I promised everyone on Staff Day, I want to take some time to really evaluate where we are. MLS has been through a lot of changes in the last 5 years and we can only be successful when we are working together as a team toward a collective purpose. I think that each one of us has our own perceptions about who we are and who we want to be collectively as an organization. In order to have the clearest picture of where everyone is, I have been working with our Planning and Assessment Department to develop an Internal Assessment Survey that will allow each staff and Commission member to provide feedback on where we are and where we want to be in 5 years. My intent is that this survey will identify our top priorities for the coming years so that we might work towards a shared vision for the future with processes that are informed by a better understanding our current reality.

This survey is being sent to all staff and Library Commissioners. Your responses are anonymous, however, they are grouped together with 10-50 other responders based on location or department. It should take about 15-20 minutes to complete the survey.

The survey is in three parts. The first two gauge what type of organization Metro is and what you want it to be. The third section assesses various process and characteristics of Metro.
