Alley Parking: Julie handed out a new assigned parking list with a parking spot for Chris Kennedy. Guest parking spots are to be arranged with Nita Normore in the Admin Offices, if you need a parking spot for long-term then the request goes to Kelley Hoffman or Julie Ballou.

Erin Bedford was welcomed to her first Leadership Team meeting as Regional Director for EPS, Downtown, Wright, Bethany and Warr Acres.

Organizational Assessment Survey

Morgan and Jennifer are creating a survey which reflects the cultural survey from 10 years ago, with three sections; how we are today, how you see us 5 years from now, and statements for agree or disagree, with no open-ended questions. The results will be shared with Leadership Team in early December and the Library Commission at their December meeting. Individual responses will be anonymous within groups of 15-70 other staff. There will be a small overlap with the latest Training survey sent out Monday, November 5, with a deadline of Nov 19.

OrangeBoy Proposal

Kim reported the Email component of OrangeBoy, we just started using in June and it has been working well for us, so she proposed we pay to continue to use this email service. If we don’t use OB we will need to purchase or subscribe to another email software. The benefits for using OB is we already have history of data with them and we will still be able to do Net Promoter Survey. Tableau will take the place of all OB dashboards, but not the emails service.

Senior Management Group follow-up: Staff Recognition Funds and the Downtown staff funds, from the staff lounge vending machine is $6,000.00. Morgan will take funds to refurnish the lactation room and staff lounge Downtown and then survey Downtown staff about how to use the remainder of the funds.

Libraries will have a portion of the total funds for staff recognition locally, other funds would be system level funds to recognize staff system-wide. Discussions continues with ideas for system-wide recognition.

Discussion of podcasts and Facebook group for Special Collections. LT wants an itemized list of cost so there is transparency and clarity, more about the background piece and more details for clarity.

Punk Project Collections: Discussed the Facebook page for the Punk collection, and the overall plan for moving forward with other collections directly related to various communities within our service area.

Discussed acquisition and cataloging of these collections and how we need to address access.

It was agreed that guidelines need to be developed for digital content that is in line with system policies for items with similar in content.

Julie lead a discussion about our Core Value 1 – Library Members First: Are there changes we need to make? Since we have gone back to calling our customers “customer” then we need to change Members, to Customers. It was discussed that leaders need to believe our values and demonstrate them.

Julie asked all leaders to have a discussion with their teams about each core value, discuss how we feel about the values we have, do they reflect how we believe and feel about our system. Discussions need to start in December after the survey that Planning & Assessment sends out after Thanksgiving.

Organizational Culture is key to success and leadership leads in these values.

Reports:

DED Finance & Business: United Way campaign was a success. Less work for MLS Staff and back end went smoothly as well.

Steve gave an update on the Bethany Construction.

Reminder:  Send list of any conference attendees to Maria and Nita.  Include names of employees, name of conference, location, dates.  To be summarized for ED report.
