Are you wild about reading? We're just now wrapping up last year's fantastic Summer Reading program, but it's time to start thinking about next year! All staff need to be aware that we're diverting from the nationwide CSLP [1] theme in 2019 to do our own: Wild About Reading! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Where the Wild Things Are, MLS has the opportunity to host an exhibit of artwork [2] by author/illustrator Maurice Sendak. This exhibit will be at the Downtown Library during June and July so will we be creating our own Summer Reading theme to help highlight this exciting show and cross-promote our summer events. Marketing has already begun working on the art (as you can see!) and our big summer reading performers have been informed of our theme so they can create programs for us. Stay tuned...
