To familiarize yourself with the 2018 Summer Reading Program, Engagement and Program Services (EPS) asks that all staff complete a required self-guided Summer Reading Program training by performing various tasks in Beanstack and watching a Summer Reading Program video. These actions are designed to provide you with an overview of the program along with the procedures our customers (and you as staff members) will need to complete to sign up, track reading, claim prizes and more!

Once you complete your self-guided training you will mark it complete in EduBrite. This training should be completed by end of day on May 15, 2018. In order to receive state and federal funding, all staff must complete one training (continuing education credit) a year that is not safety training. Metro uses the Summer Reading training to fulfill that requirement. 

Before you begin your self-guided training, please take a moment and visit the definitions [3] page so that you can familiarize yourself with the terminology we are using for our 2018 Summer Reading Program. Please make sure to explore the additional resource material on the Summer Reading Intranet [4] page as well. More content will be added over the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!

EPS encourages staff to work together on their self-guided training in Beanstack. If you are a new staff member, you might find it beneficial to work on your training with a staff member who is familiar with Beanstack and the Summer Reading program. While this year’s Summer Reading Program training for all staff is self-guided, EPS will be meeting in-person with all Engagement Managers over the upcoming weeks to review the 2018 Summer Reading Program. Engagement Managers will be the primary points of contact for the Summer Reading Program for staff at each of their locations, but as always, EPS is here to help!
