Reporting & Analysis

  • Incident reporting software in the works
  • Hubor Study to evaluate procedures and workflows is going well
  • Collection anywhere next steps
  • Visiting OU and OSU to tour their off-site collections
  • Working on a data analysis brief template – something a bit more robust than we previously used
  • Going over 3 yrs of data on rules of conduct violations
  • Almost done compiling data on shelving time
  • Group meeting to standardize shelving procedures
  • ODL reports coming up
  • Class & comps study will be complete soon – go through it and ask questions

Move

  • The move to the service center went well
  • Waiting on some furniture, so some move dates have changed

Budget

  • Budget template in the works
  • Charise will want to meet one-on-one with each dept. to make sure they understand their base budget
  • Supplies ordering will change
  • Waiting to hear from the county. Looking at 3.9% growth.
  • At this point, it is more about methodology than exact numbers
  • Dividing the marketing budget for things like posters to be housed in each library
  • OKC Bound Election
    • How do we engage members?
    • This will include DN, RE, AL & BI Libraries
  • 5-year marketing plan
  • Funding from Friends will look a bit different this year
    • Last year staff was asked to apply for money from the pilot project fund – we did not spend it all. This year there will be funds for test projects

Hiring

  • Member services is hiring for several positions
  • Looking for PT Temp
  • Tim Spindle has been doing a great job with social but will need to off-board that task to someone else
  • New manager at BI
  • New learning and development manager
  • They will be reaching out to leadership team members to meet

Construction & Events

  • Capitol Hill Steering Committee Meeting
  • Opening of CH
  • CH Tour
  • Bethany groundbreaking
  • Thunder Rolling Book bus coming to Choctaw
  • Camera installed at Bethany
  • We have a bid for wiring at CH
  • Met with the city of Edmond to do a study on the structure of the library and see if it is possible to move AC unit to the roof
  • NW library sprinklers are installed & sod going in soon
  • NW library patio under construction due to foundation issue
  • Choctaw library just got a new AC system
  • Jones just got new countertops
  • We have received new bike racks – not installed yet
  • New janitorial team started
  • Finalizing Bethany plans
  • The Village will close for 8-12 weeks (most likely around Thanksgiving time)
  • Staff development day
    • Strengths finder kick-off
    • Saying, “yes” – members first
  • New training software – Edu-brite
    • Training literature going out
    • Class – be prepared to ask questions
  • ULC Forum
  • Lyrisis membership meeting
  • TLC annual meeting

Other

  • Volunteers - Some service communication/training that needs to be addressed
  • Member services team needs an overview of how people can make donations to the library
  • A website for development is in the works
  • Possibly adding 30 thousand historical photographs to our collection
  • Working on a new name for the formally titled, “playful learning”/ “learning experiences” department
  • Newsletter kicked-off
  • Transferring intranet duties to Victoria
  • Share your budgets with one another, so there are no discrepancies and a consistent voice
