Program Description: 
Sharing in playtimes is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning and discover that the library is a destination for fun! We will conclude our play time with a brief educational story time with music, rhymes, movement, flannel board activities and a brief story. Choose the 9:30 or 10:30 session. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness.

How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?: 
Play and Story Times demonstrate to families that there is a place for everyone at the library. Play times introduce the youngest ages to the library and introduces them to books. Play time is an excellent opportunity for developing language skills and social skills and engage in group play.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?: 
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
Play times have been some of best attended activities at the Library for young children. Families value play time as pleasant introduction to the library for their children.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
The two sessions will average 8 to 12 children in attendance. Families will want to come back to the library for more programs provided for their children. Families will use resources of the library with their children and take them home.
