There was a recent article [1] that mentioned that the public could get free eclipse glasses at their local library. As a result, we have received a number of questions from library members interested in receiving eclipse viewing glasses. Every location hosting the Science Museum Oklahoma Eclipse Party program in the month of August is receiving 100 eclipse viewing glasses. Locations not hosting that program can still request eclipse viewing glasses by emailing me. If your location is hosting the Eclipse Party hand out the viewing glasses at the program, one per person. Any viewing glasses left over after that program may be handed out as you see fit. Here [2] is a link to the event calendar for the eclipse programs.
We will post something on the website next week with details about how people can obtain eclipse viewing glasses and where they can attend programs. I wanted to make sure that you know what is going on so you can better assist people when they ask about it. If you have any questions, would like for your library to receive eclipse viewing glasses, or want help with displays or activities surrounding the eclipse please let me know.
