Program Justification
Is a program the best way to meet the expressed need or present information?:
Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
This program will allow kids to come into the library and feel safe and at home. Because we will be using three members of library staff as princesses it will help them to identify and feel more comfortable with staff. Several of the activities also promote motor skills and early literacy, by creating interactive activities that cane be customized to fit the needs of any age group.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?:
It incorporates something very popular with many children, but will also have activities that their siblings and parents can engage in as well. This will create multiple oppurtunities for different staff to engage with children.
How will success be measured/determined?:
We will look at program numbers as far as attendance but also how long the average participant stays in the program. The goal is to keep members occupied the full time the program is running.
Program Engagement
Marketing
Is sufficient time available to have a Info Magazine Listing?:
Yes
Is sufficient time available to request MaC materials and display them for at least 2 weeks (45 days)?:

Community Engagement

Create an in-Library Book Display or Exhibit
Share on my personal Social Media sites (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram)
Submit for sharing on Library System's Social Media sites
Up-sell the event with customers (verbally or with printed Marketing pieces)
Visit a community organization to promote
What library resources and services will you connect to this program?:
I plan to have a book and DVD display.
Are volunteers needed?:
No
Supplies
Are supplies needed?:
Yes, order through RFP or shop locally for additional supplies.
Supply/Shopping List:
Most of the craft supplies I already have. I will need to get the supplies for caramel apples and can request a walmart card for purchasing when the program gets closer.
Final Comments:
This event should be an easy and fun way to get in more of our target audience. For the time being we have very little participation from young girls and I am hoping this will start many events that help get them in the library more.
Are you ready for your supervisor to evaluate this program?:
No
