Program Description: 
Sharing in playtimes is an excellent way to help children build social skills, promote learning and discover that the library is a destination for fun! We will conclude our play time with a brief educational story time with music, rhymes, movement, flannel board activities and a story. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness. Choose the 9:30 or 10:30 session.

How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?: 
Playtime is an opportunity for families with young children to develop social skills and encourage mental development and language development. It is a program designed for this age group that lets families know that the library welcomes young children. Families discover many additional library resources to promote their children's mental growth when they com for Playtime.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?: 
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
Playtime have proven to fill quickly and in recent years have boon one of the biggest draws to the library for families with young children.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Attendance of an average of eight to sixteen children and their parents or caregivers at each of the playtime sessions. Families coming to playtime will use additional library resources while at the library and check them out to take home.
