Program Description: 
A story time just for you at your neighborhood library! Introduce your little ones to the library and create excitement about reading. Connect with others while enjoying music, rhymes, a flannel board story, and craft. A professional librarian will lead story time and share tips on reading readiness.

How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?: 
Storytime and Craft programs provide an introduction to the library for young children. In this setting designed especially for them, they will learn that the library is a place that welcomes them and they will want to com back again. Children can learn through these programs many of the early literacy skills that they will use when they learn to read.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?: 
Ensure a Welcoming Experience: Visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of hospitality, exemplary service, and friendly interaction.
Why will this program be successful?: 
Storytime and Craft programs have a record of popularity with families of young children.
How will success be measured/determined?: 
Attendance of 12 to 25 children at Storytime and Crafts. Families will return for additional early childhood programs. Families who attend will participate in the library Summer Reading Program. Families will use library resources while at the library and check them out to use at home.
