Program Justification

Yes
Does the program fit the goals of the MLS?:
Yes
How & why does this program meet the goals of the MLS?:
As far as the Strategic Plan is concerned, this project definitely fits within the experiences of Playful Learning and TeXperiences (with coding and STEM). It also matches up well with our values of Commitment to Learning as Enjoyment and Respect for Members (by seeing our teen volunteers as members with valuable contributions to offer). I also foresee the project helping us to retain these teen members better by adding value to the member/volunteer experience and increasing the teens’ connection to the library.
Which Strategic Plan Response/Goals does this program meet?:
Satisfy Curiosity: Visitors explore their interests using the variety of information at the library.
Why will this program be successful?:
Two-pronged approach to success: rewarding experience for the volunteers, and educational/fun experience for the program participants.
How will success be measured/determined?:
Volunteers: end-of-summer feedback survey and exit interview Program participants: attendance; survey
