I am pleased to announce the following appointments to the Alignment Project Committee:
The Committee will be responsible for establishing and communicating the project's scope, budget, schedule, and critical success factors. Additionally, the Committee will work with specific functional groups during the project to ensure that the information it uses to make decisions is accurate and complete. While the selection of Committee members was purposeful, it was not scientific or formula based. We selected members who exhibited the following traits/had the following experiences:
In addition, we wanted to have a good mix of folks from different jobs across public services (since 90% of the Alignment impacts the PS staff). This is not meant to be a form of representative government, so we didn't try to cover every job or every permutation (such as a MLIS holder without supervisory duties). We wanted a group that could and would help us better understand our gaps in knowledge and who could help us gather questions and answer them. We also wanted a small committee that would have fewer problems scheduling and attending meetings.
The Committee's first meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 3rd, and we will update staff on the group's progress by Monday, February 6th.
I want to thank the Committee members for being willing to participate in this exciting project. I also want to thank their supervisors for enabling them to contribute on a system-wide level.
Please let me know what question you have by posting them on the forum [1].
