It depends on your current position. Many staff will simply be transferred into their new job/title at the same location where they currently work. If a staff member requests a voluntary demotion, Administration will consider the request and implement when/where possible. If you are in a position that has more than one lateral transfer opportunity (designated as a lateral transfer on the "Public Services Position mapping" document available on the Alignment Project page on the intranet), and you request to make a lateral transfer into a position that is not available at your current home location, Administration will consider your request. If the position is open, and there is no competition for the job, you can immediately be placed in that position. If there is more than one qualified internal candidate who also wants this position, we will conduct some form of internal interview process. Some positions will be opened externally. That process is still under development.
